This expression of old age brings to mind the image of a horse that has worked rigorously and has not been properly taken supported. Are you as healthy as horses? If you know what it takes to get a horse to be healthy ideal you can apply the same concepts for you. Settled in the Courchevel area of Les Trois Valees, at 1400m above sea level, La Tania was originally a peaceful forest hamlet named ‘La Tagna’. It meant ‘The Bear’s Dwelling’ in the local dialect, a reference to the bears that dwelt within the Tarantaise forest until the start of the 20th century. As they disappeared (hunted down by the inhabitants due to their intimidating presence so close to human habitation), the area was largely forgotten about until the end of the 1980′s, when La Perriere Council decided to create a ski resort near the hamlet – with an overarching design for every chalet. La Tania was designed by Jacques Labro, an architect renowned for being awarded a silver medal for his deign of Avoriaz resort. In 1990, the resort was opened, and has been host to many happy skiers ever since.
Olympics
During the 1992 winter Olympics in Albertivill, journalists and athletes filled nearly every chalet; La Tania was designated as an ‘Olympic village,’ to host the many people involved in the competition. The 1992 winter Olympics saw changes for many winter sports; it was the first time demonstration sports were included in the programme. They were also notable as the first event of their type where the Winter Paralympics and the Winter Olympics were held at the same site.
The Pistes
Boasting the presence of ‘Ecole du Ski Francais,’ the largest skiing school in France, there’s plenty of skiing action to exhaust you before you return to your chalet! La Tania is home to three pistes, which wind down the forest into the village, classified by colour as red, blue and green. The blue piste benefits from a snow cannon to keep it open for all-season access, meaning the resort is never short of either novice or experienced skiers!
Apres-Ski
Social life revolves around ‘Pub Le Ski Lodge’, and its local clientele and big party nights make it the venue of choice for those looking for a little excitement in the evenings. On a Tuesday night, the best bands perform to a crowd of chalet staff and skiers alike. If you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, there are quieter venues still close to your chalet in La Tania. The Hotel Montana is a great place to escape when you need some peace, with its lovely quiet bar, and Le Farcon is a Michelin-star restaurant with a relaxed and subtle ambience.
Events
Aside from skiing, there are plenty other events to entice you out of your chalet! La Tania is home to a strong community feeling, and there are events held year-round. Children’s week is always popular in the run-up to Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, you might just be able to see the incredible sight of Father Christmas visiting the village on his husky sleigh (as the reindeer are resting for the big night!), escorted by torchbearers. In March, the Forest Challenge is sure to interest the ecologically-minded; and at the end of the skiing season, the annual Charity Day Party collects funds for various cancer charities in France and the UK, with games, competitions, and items auctioned off. Over 100,000 euros have been raised by the Charity Day, making it a huge success and a credit to La Tania.

Homemade Wine Making Tips for Beginners
With the growing number of wine drinkers today – either for fun or a form of drug in parts of the world, the wines are certainly the only people are after. Unfortunately, the wines are expensive. With quality comes with age, old wines can be very, very expensive.
Now for the wine lovers who can not deal with the wines purchased, they go for the house wines instead – the manufacture of homemade wine has become the pastime of many people in the world.
It is important to do your homework and learn exactly what means before undertaking the hobby of winemaking. This is not something that can simply be immersed in, and then learned along the road. Without the vital research necessary to have the necessary foreknowledge of each stage winemaking process and the critical failure is a certainty. When it comes to winemaking, error can taste so horrible that success is sweet.
Winemaking is a fun hobby that can be easily done in his spare time and at the end of the process – if all goes well – it will a nice result. Mastering Merlot
Merlot is a big player in the world of wine, with two very different roles. Not only is she a mix partner great but it is also a pretty good grapes when used on its own, producing some deliciously subtle and easy drinking red wine.
Merlot made his name as one of the three grapes used in Bordeaux, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The concentration of the grapes which varies according to local it is grown and those that are found along the right bank of the Gironde Saint Emilion and Pomerol, for example, where Merlot is the dominant grape. Wine This Part of Bordeaux are generally regarded as one of the best in the world, and quality and, inevitably, the taste will be the second to none. However, this has a price and if it is too much for your pocket, you may want to look elsewhere. Some of the New World countries, including regions Chile and South Australia are currently about tasty Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon blends, which are worth a taste.
But Merlot is not only used in blends. The grape produces wines very tasty when used on its own. Merlot can be very difficult in a grape growing because it is quite fragile, but when grown well, it produces a delicious cherry wine with hints of plum. The addition of oak gives a smokey sometimes choclately even, edge. The New World, in particular, is a good starting point for finding a decent bottle of Merlot tasting, although France, Italy and Spain are equally well work with this grape.
The sensitivity of Merlot grapes, with her soft skin, means it is usually enough light to medium bodied wine from its red counterparts. However, it varies depending on where the grapes was grown and the conditions under which it was grown. Lighter versions will be soft and easy to drink, while heavier versions have a very Profile quite similar to tasting her boyfriend mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon with less tannin and body
Because Merlot produces a variety of styles wine, it fits a variety of consumer situations. A lighter version will be the good taste of its own or with lighter foods such as dishes with tomato or pizza, while heavier versions and Merlot blends will taste much better with red meat dishes and rich.
