How to select the proper wine cellar housing for you

Wine cellars come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. But if you are a lover of good wine, you've probably always wanted to own your own wine cellar where bottles of your favorite wines are aging to perfection. If you are a true wine lover, nothing beats your own collection of favorites ready to enjoy and share with friends.

Just about every budget and storage area may lend itself to a wine cellar of some kind. You do not even need to have a dedicated spare room for smaller versions that are simply a medium designed to contain a few bottles and have them on display. Wine Coolers vary considerably in terms of budget, space available and your level of interest, but surely you will be able to find one just for you.

Let's start small with our discussion. The smaller variations that are available to organize one to two dozen bottles and they are taken straight to go into a corner of a spare closet or display in a room of your choice. Depending on how much space you have to work with (and your budget, of course), you may want to consider more storage systems. Storage space should not be a limitation of your dreams, while having little stock on hand is not a problem.

When planning your cellar, there are a number of important things considered. It is crucial to realize that wine is one thing and changing the conditions under which it is stored will affect the way she ages.

Storing wine is very simple when you back to basics. It requires a constant temperature, humidity, the dark, quiet (set free from vibration) and well ventilated, clean.

People who are only storing a few bottles of their favorites will probably not be able to control all these variables as well as someone who is building a designated area for their wine cellar as a spare closet or a room in the house, but even if you only store a few bottles on the screen, it is preferable store them in the best space available.

Those people who are building a dedicated space for their cellars wish to consider the recommended requirements following:

1) Isolation – It is advisable to have a room that is well insulated to keep the room temperature as stable as possible. It will much easier to build an isolation room above ground than below, because it takes about three feet of earth to provide the same insulation as 4 " fiberglass insulation or form.

2) Temperature – It is generally accepted that a good temperature range for storing wine is between 50 and 59 degrees Fahrenheit (10-15 degrees Celsius), it is imperative to maintain the temperature of your storage space below the mid-70's Fahrenheit to prevent the deterioration of your wine.

3) Humidity – wine natural corks requires a moisture content of about 70% to ensure the ability the cork to do its job, but around 50% to 80% is probably acceptable. If your storage space is not wet enough, you run the risk caps drying out, allowing air to reach and damage your wine.

4) Darkness – Light prematurely age a bottle of wine so the best solution for storage to take advantage of the dark room where the wine is exposed to light only occasionally.

5) Finally, remember to keep the bottles on the side. Wine in a bottle well be stored horizontally in contact with the bottle cork, keeping the cork moist and prevent the withdrawal that allow air to enter the bottle.

Many styles, sizes and types of wine cellars are available and we hope this article will help you choose the right one for you.
